Description: A program of independent works produced by Pennsylvania filmmakers dealing with themes ranging from a changing Jewish community in Pittsburgh to fraternity rituals at a large university to the experience of walking across the Golden Gate Bridge. The creative, somewhat experimental films represent the varied talents of Peter Rose and Michael DiLauro of Philadelphia, Sheila Chamovitz of Pittsburgh, Tony Buba of Braddock, and local filmmakers George Hornbein, Ken Thigpen and P.J. O'Connell. All are contemporary adepts of the cinema verite; their compositions aim at capturing sensitive "slices" of American culture.
