Description: Demonstrates basic procedures for handling solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals safely and effectively. Stresses importance of reading labels, of showing technique for pouring solids into a beaker, of using a spatula, of obtaining samples of predetermined weight and of protecting against contamination. Shows safe way to loosen stuck stoppers, pour into a beaker with a glass rod, dispose of unwanted liquids and use an Eye dropper. Illustrates use of compressed gas cylinders and adjustment of pressure gauges - stresses precautions required for safe operation.
