Description: Shows results when five samples of a solution of a given chloride ion concentration are added to a succession of lead ion solutions of increasing concentration, so chosen that two samples give no precipitate while three give precipitates in successively greater amounts. Demonstrates controlled observations necessary to evaluate simple solubility product calculations. Illustrates the common ion effect by adding saturated sodium chloride to samples of the solutions in equilibrium with the precipitates, which produces additional precipitate.
