Description: Explores the fishing trade of Hong Kong including the three main fishing methods, income of the fishermen, financing of boats, and marketing of the catch. Uses diagrams and film sequences to illustrate shrimp trawling, gill netting, and purse seining. Estimates the average income for each of these methods and explains the role of the government, fishermen's societies, and private money lenders in financing the purchase of boats. Shows the procedures by which fish are sold in the seven wholesale fishmarkets and cites the government role in the prevention of overfishing.
