Boran Women

Presents visually and with narration the daily activities, life style, and culture of the Boran women of northern Kenya. Shows the woman's unique position in this cattle herding society where she controls the distribution of grain and milk. Documents the sterilization of pots for milk, milking, cooking, house building, water carrying, farming, and caring for cattle. Expresses changes in education and the effects of drought on the argiculture and herding., Shows how Boran women still attach great importance to the role of women in a traditional herding society and show little variation in the tasks they perform from dawn to dusk, although education is slowly changing their views.
