Complete Record: Reflections in Depth is an engaging and entertaining glimpse of the underwater world of “inner space” as it is called by filmmaker, John Boland. Divers gracefully swim among rocks and coral on the ocean floor amidst fish and other creatures; an octopus of vibrant colors; a striped shrimp; a blow fish; a careful lobster and schooling fish are a few of the inhabitants. The action of each creates a mood which is accompanied by music, at times frenetic, at other times peaceful and sometimes even lyrical. The different homes, movements, and camouflage techniques of sea creatures are seen. The interconnection of all living things and the eternal quality of the sea are two of the themes explored.
