Complete Record: The film covers the period from the discovery of America by Columbus to the end of the 17th Century. It is an overview of the Spanish, French, and English colonization effort. The countries shared many of the same motives for colonization. But there were also different reasons particular to the state of affairs in each nation. The film explores both the general and particular reasons in a way that is meaningful to the student.
