Description: In this abstract animation, the filmmaker uses a linear motion which is broken by a simultaneous forward-backward progression that counterpoints the visuals. He presents a two-minute sequence of metallic shapes which seem to move in and out of their dimensional qualities, sometimes appearing to be solid objects while other times drawings. The film is repeated with the images moving in reverse motion underneath the original ones (both images on tracing paper). Concurrently, the sound of the first part moves in reverse under itself. The repetitive structure of the film is based on the musical crab (retrograde) canon, the fugal structure perfected by Bach, in which the theme is played against itself going backwards.
