Description: In this silent, melancholy contemplation, the city and its diminutive inhabitants recede before the eternal primal forces that reign impervious to man and his artificial constructs. On a sunny day, a woman leans out of a tenement window, a passive observer of life below. Wind tosses newspapers on a rooftop. Rain buffets cars and streets on a dark, stormy night. Birds fly in unified, rhythmic formation through a cloud-strewn sky. A lone figure retreats from driving snow. Closure is attained where earth, sky and water converge - the windswept beach at Coney Island and its desolate amusement park.
