Description: Produced under the supervision of Edward T. Hall of the Universal School of Handicrafts, Rockefeller Center, New York. Instructor Mary Louise Weston. Student Betty Love. Paper, vellum, buckram, linen and leather samples are shown. Paper for the cover is decorated by finger painting and laid aside to dry. Sheets of wrapping paper, folded, form the sections or body of the book. After folding, the sections are placed between boards and clamped. Sewing in and out thru kerfs; insertion of tapes; gluing of super and a strip of firm paper to back of book. A strip of binders vellum is marked and pasted to the board. Covers are pasted to the board and rubbed on thoroly to avoid air blisters. The cover paper is rubbed gently but firmly in place. End sheets are pasted. The finished product is held up for inspection.
