Description: Shows clay being dug from a mine, thoroughly cleaned, and left outdoors to weather for several months. Next, it is shoveled into a press and pressed into a solid mass. Worked and then wedged, the clay is carefully centered on the wheel and shaped. It is dried to a leatherlike hardness and again put on the wheel for smoothing. The kiln is then made ready for firing. The piece is inspected and finally glazed.
