Complete Record: An aircraft and mission for tomorrow’s Air Force--The KC-10 “Extender.” Built by McDonnell Douglas for SAC, the KC-10 has a versatility that will be a welcome addition to the present Air Force inventory. Computer-assisted flight and navigation systems, along with numerous sophisticated improvements at the boom operator’s station make this aircraft most unique. It will supplement the KC-135 with twice the refueling capacity, allowing fighters to spend extended time in forward battle areas. Assignment Korea--recent improvements made to enhance the quality of life in that part of the world. Many changes have been made to upgrade living conditions over there, and an assignment to Korea is now an attractive and challenging opportunity for Air Force members and their families.
