Complete Record: Cairo west, Egypt, was the site of the recent US/Egypt exercise “proud phantom”. This joint service project was the first time since WWII that US troops have deployed to Egypt. Its purpose was to put air force people and planes to the test...to fly and fight from a temporary bare base. The 90 day exercise involved units from several major commands and showed the world that the air force is ready to move now.
