Description: This episode of "Your Hit Parade" popular music show dates to February 13 1954. The presentation is a kinescope, or a television signal that was recorded from a TV set onto 16mm film. The "Hit Parade" musical review show was sponsored by Lucky Strike cigarettes and Richard Hudnut Quick Home Permanent, and features advertisements for both products. At 13:21, golfer Sam Snead promotes Luckys. At :33, the animated Lucky Strike cigarettes sequence was created by special effects guru Ray Harryhausen. "Your Hit Parade" featured elaborate sets and choreography that was inspired both by Hollywood movies and "soundies" -- popular short film versions of popular songs. The show utilized a cast to perform the songs, as opposed to playing the versions then on the air. At (00:11:43:05) Is An Ad For Lucky's Cigarettes Explaining a Survey of why college students prefer Their Cigarettes And another Ad at (00:23:27:14) For Bendix Automatic Washers The "Your Hit Parade" program started out on radio before moving to television in 1950, and ran until 1959. The show presented seven top hit songs. This episode features Giselle Mackenzie, Roy Landman / Snooky Lanson, Polly Bergen, and Russel Arms, as well as Raymond Scott and the Hit Parade Orchestra. (Some other singers on "Your Hit Parade" in this era often included Dorothy Collins, Eileen Wilson and June Valli.) Songs include "Thats Amore' (00:02:06:15), :Changing Partners" (00:03:50:01), "Heart Of My Heart" (00:19:12:00), "Stranger In Paradise" (00:13:21:01), "Ricochett", Oh My Papa" (00:18:31:20), "Lucky In Love" (00:21:04:04), "Secret Love" (00:24:49:21) The songs featured on the program were selected as a result of a secret survey, supposedly based on best selling sheet music and phonograph records, plus tabulations made of songs most heard on the radio and most played on jukeboxes.

in a dream but you know you're not dreaming see you're right schools are me but you see back in old napoli that's the morning that's the horror number five on the survey after the ball is over dorothy collins sings the ballot that's in fifth place changing partners [Music] we were waltzing together to a dreamy melody when they called out change partners and you walked away from me then my arms felt so empty as i gazed around the floor so i'll keep changing partners till i hold you once more though for one moment in that wonderful moment something happened to my heart and i'll play with changing on let everybody [Music] on the collar of the street we were rough and pretty guys [Music] if once more i couldn't listen [Music] my heart lucky's win again international smoking survey among college students in 1952 a survey was made in leading colleges throughout the country which showed that smokers in those colleges preferred luckies to any other cigarette last year another survey was made representative of all students in regular colleges from coast to coast supervised by college professors and based on more than 31 000 actual student interviews this survey shows that lucky's lead again lead over all other brands regular or king size and by a wide margin the number one reason again lucky's better taste why do luckies taste better here's the first big reason fine tobacco
