A documentary presentation of the split between East and West as Russia attempted to dominate impoverished nations following World War II, the establishment of Soviet-satellite nations behind "the Iron Curtain" and the implementation of the Marshall Plan by the United States, enabling democratic nations of Europe to remain independent. Discusses the strategy of the Marshall Plan to contain Communism, the efforts of the United Nations General Assembly to secure peace, despite the continued use of the veto by the Soviet delegates, and Russia's threat to Greece, Turkey and the Mediterranean area.
