Description: This series of film clips documents the special ceremony of the unveiling of a memorial erected at the Texas State Capitol in honor of World War I veterans on November 12, 1961. Among the honorary speakers are Texas Senator George Moffett and Lieutenant Governor Bruce Reagan. The monument, carved out of granite from Llano County, is inscribed with a replica of the Veterans Organization emblem. It reads “In Memory of Veterans of World War I. 1917-1918. Department of Texas. God, Country, Peace.”
