Examines the causes and prevention of fire in the U.S. Shows the critics and defendants of the fire codes published by the National Fire Protection Agency. Blames an increase in fires on the increased use of plastics which are highly flammable and produce heavy smoke and toxic fumes. Also discusses ways to reduce fires from the two major causes - cigarettes, and arson for profit.
