Adapted from the 1953 Cavalcade of America TV program. Tells the story of how Jefferson Davis is persuaded by his wife Knox, who marries him against the wishes of her father, Zachary Taylor, to be a planter, not a politician. After Knox's death, Davis enters politics and soon wins the respect of Zachary Taylor.
