The story of a poor orphan girl who is seduced and gives birth to a child that later dies. She becomes a servant on a farm and falls in love with the farmer's son. When her seducer suddenly reappears, a series of melodramatic events ensues. (Circulates), Presents a melodramatic story of an innocent country girl who, after the death of her illegitimate child, finds work with a farm family. Tells how the son falls in love with her but when the father finds out about her past, he throws her out in a blizzard. Explains how when the son hears what happened he pursues and rescues her from a frozen river. Stars Lillian Gish. Directed by D.W. Griffith.
