[Music] it's quiet here it's so quiet that even the Birds seem noisy sometimes it's so quiet here that you'd say it could never have been otherwise but there was a time not so long ago when [Music] things were different things went well on the whole we got what we went to [Music] get we got another tow hole we got another airstrip but we paid a price I say we and I mean we this man is one of us this is American flesh this is American blood these are American men [Music] this was three or 4 months ago when they started [Music] back they must be home by now and so they are in a way they're among friends everyone wants to lend a hand and some will need a helping hand for a while a helping hand that your war bonds are making possible there are a lot of our friends here there are a lot of them in hundreds of wards like this one the country over these are the men who served us gallantly and well these are the men for whom this nation has decided that the best of medical treatment is barely good enough the equipment is the best that can be had the hands that use it are the most skillful in the world for those who need electrical therapy there are these expensive [Music] machines for those who need hydrotherapy there is this and other apparatus these things we must give to our men who need them and we must also give them other important things that Aid them along the road to recovery massage exercise to restore the muscles occupational therapy to restore interest in the life they once knew friendly counsel work experience to steady the hand and sharpen the Mind courses in subjects they wish to pursue in civilian life Sports and games Divine [Music] service and fervently we wish that they shall return to civilian life whole and that those who must wait shall one day return as whole as all the skill all the Care all the patience and all the love we whom they serve can give them and to the end that our wish may be made reality we are determined to buy bonds to buy more bonds and to hold our bonds a
