Description: "Vicious Cycles" is a 1967 short film directed by Len Janson and Chuck Menville. The film is a satirical take on motorcycle gang culture, featuring a gang that rides invisible motorcycles, creating mayhem as they go. This unique approach was achieved through a stop-motion animation technique known as pixilation, where live actors are photographed frame by frame to create the illusion of movement. The film has been praised for its innovative use of this technique and its humorous narrative
Complete Record: Motorcycle gang with cool jackets. They’re bad to the bone...drinking and drugging and fighting and riding! Stop action creates a great effect. They pretend to be riding bikes but in reality, there are no bikes. (they’re just pretending) One guy picks up a pretty girl that is hitchhiking. She “rides” on the back of his “bike”. At some point, the try to get into a motorcycle drag race with some “squares”. Eventually the cops get involved.
