Presents the contributions of Leeuwenhoek's microscope and Pasteur's experiment illustrating biogenesis. Uses scale models of ulothrix, amoeba, and bacteria to illustrate size relationships of microscopic forms. Describes symbiosis and microscopic flagellates and ciliates in termites and frogs. Explains how microorganisms may be either harmful or beneficial to man and shows that their importance is great both now and in the future.
