The film is designed to help the viewer learn how to prevent Venereal Disease and how to recognize the more obvious symptoms. We learn that women are 80% asymptotic. We also learn that many men are asymptomatic and what the symptoms are for men as well as for women and what to expect in the examination and treatment of the major Venereal Diseases, gonorrhea and syphilis. The film stresses the very personal responsibility of those with V.D. of naming their contacts and the protective anonymity provided for those who do so. Information about public health clinics and free clinics is provided for those who do not want to be examined and/or treated by their family doctor. Four leading medical authorities cover their special field of practice. In addition, we hear from Dr. Rafe Henderson, Chief of the Venereal Disease Branch of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of the U.S. Public Health Service. The narrator is Gail Goodrich. Film begins with various people on the street stating misconceptions about VD/STDs. Then the host sitting in a chair, introducing the topic of VD. Several short scenes of parents and kids talking to each other about sex and venereal disease. Then several talking head interviews with doctors. Several animated sequences featuring anatomical diagrams, especially male and female reproductive systems. Animation sequences include: herpes sores, genital infections, syphilis infections, among others. Two brief scenes of a young man, and then a young women, going to the doctor and getting their genitals examined.
