Vasaloppet: the Vasa ski race = the Wasa ski race

Description: The Vasa Ski Race in Sweden is the biggest ski race in the world. The race which is held in memory of the King Gustav Vasa, who fled the Danes in 1530, is held every year on the first Sunday of March. Some ten thousand competitors enter this unusual and exciting cross-country ski race. Film includes re-creation of the 1530 event interspersed with shots of the race taken from the feature film ‘Gustav Vasa’.
