Description: The film opens with a classroom discussion in which students try to pin down an elusive definition of disease and then shifts to the particular as the class grapples with the question of what should be included as a venereal disease. Animation is used to answer some of the students' questions. After examining the anatomy of the male and female reproductive systems, the numerous signs and symptoms of the various diseases are shown. The seriousness and consequences are then considered, particularly of herpes simplex type II, syphillis, and gonorrhea. With interpolations by a physician, the class also considers the question of prevention, treatment, and cure.
