Description
Marines prepare to deploy for NATO joint exercises, Operation Bold Guard/Northern Wedding. Gen. A.M. Gray inspects the 10th Marines at Camp Lejeune (NC). Marines, jeeps with TOW weapons, and M60 tanks stand ready for inspection. USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7) pulls out from Radio Island, Morehead City. Marines rest on the docks as they wait to board USS Spartanburg County (LST-1192) and USS Manitowoc (LST-1180). M60 tanks board docked LST. Convoy enters Morehead city ship terminal. Flatbed trucks carry communications shelters aboard docked AKR USNS Meteor. M60 tanks board AKR. Marines walk on dock area and board USS Raleigh (LPD-1).
