Description
Marines participate in NATO training exercise, Operation Bold Guard/Northern Wedding. USN RAdm. makes a speech and is escorted by the Mayor of Brunsbuttel. NATO military and civilian personnel as well as members of the press observe beach landings. LVTP7s make beach landings, move over fields. Marines in prone firing positions. Jeeps with TOW weapons move on the deck of LPH. Helicopter takes off from USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7). Aerial views of anchored LPH-7. CH53 helicopter in flight and takes off from LPH-7. German Spahpanzer 8x8 amphibious reconnaissance vehicles fire armament while moving over hardtop roads and maneuver through fields. Convoy of 155 self-propelled Howitzers, full track recovery vehicles, jeeps, and 6x6 trucks move and park over rain soaked hardtop road. Marines board 6x6 trucks.
