Description
Marines participate in NATO joint exercises, Operation Bold Guard/Northern Wedding. Scottish civilians on the Shetland Islands observe beach landings (September 10th, 1978). In Eutin, Germany (September 23rd, 1978) German Spahpanzer II (also known as a Scout Armored Car ""Lynx"") 8x8 amphibious reconnaissance vehicle moves over dirt and hardtop roads as well as fields. A German officer briefs Marines on the German 8x8 vehicle. In Oksbol, Denmark (September 16th, 1978) Marines double time over sand dunes, take prone firing positions and fire M16 rifles with BFA attachment. British war games umpire officer uses a field phone. A Danish tank moves over sand dunes, a Danish Drakin jet in flight. Aerial views of the USS Guadalcanal (LPH-7) underway. German helicopter in flight, hovering.
