The uses library footage to create the appearance of an actual operation. TThe USS Cavalier (APA-37) is loaded with rations, vehicles, and other supplies. Equipment is inspected and Marines embark. The amphibious task force commanders, a Navy captain and Naval fleet admiral, discuss the operation. Marines pass free time on the deck of the ship writing letters, reading, and chatting. Rehearsal for landings is undertaken with troops climbing in and out of the boats via a net. An amphibious landing maneuver is conducted in the Philippines to prepare them for the actual assault on the target, Cambodia. Narration covers in technical detail the logistical aspects of such a large amphibious assault and the subsequent stabilization of the beachhead. Ships shown in the film include the USS New Jersey (BB-62) and USS De Soto County (LST-1171).
