USMC 104669 Description Office of War Information Bureau of Motion Pictures releases an informational/training film for the Navy about Imperial Japan and the Okinawa Invasion. A film explains the cultural differences between Japan and the West. Included is footage of Japanese daily life as well as combat footage. Emperor Hirohito (Showa). The second film is about the American capture of the island of Okinawa and how they maintain the indigenous population and their own while at war with the Japanese army in the North. Combat footage is shown, featuring M116 howitzers, M1 rifles, C82 planes, M-2-4 rocket trucks, M1917 Browning heavy machine guns, M1919 medium machine guns, M1A1 recoilless anti-tank rocket launcher, amongst others.
