Description
Official Operational Report- Mariana Operation Phase II Guam. Through diagrams and some combat footage, the film explains the geography, weather, population, topography, and other specs of the island of Guam. Using these tools, the film reflects on the Mariana Op. Phase II and what information guided decisions for the operation. Further, the film gives information about hygiene risks and the specifications of air field sites and their capabilities. The film explains the schedule and precise plan to push into Guam against the Japanese. Within the combat footage, sailors are seen loading and firing 5""/25 caliber AA guns and what appears to be twin mounted 3""/50 caliber AA guns. Featured ships include the USS Oneida (APA-221), USS Virgo (AKA-20), amongst other destroyers and LSTs and LVTs.
