Description
One of three reels aggregated to 10/3525. (see USMC 104606, and 104607). This reel is a mix of casualties incoming from Peleliu and arriving at the USS DuPage (APA 41). Second portion of reel shows Marines capturing Japanese prisoners and other scenes from Guam (Sumay Harbor). Marines are taken aboard in various states of injury. Those who can walk, walk off boat, others are carried on stretchers. Second portion of reel shows Marines capturing Japanese prisoners and other scenes from Guam (Sumay Harbor). Marines play dice with locals for cigarettes. An injured Japanese soldier is walked across a field and stripped of his uniform. Soldiers show a grenade to the camera. Marines pass a bottle of liquor between themselves. A note arrives with directions for treatment a Japanese POW as well as translations. A soldier in distress is filmed amongst casualties. a
