From the General Charles F. B. Price Collection, carnage in Chaipei as the Japanese attack. Smoke billows into the air as the city burns. The street is crowded by fleeing people. A bridge is collapsed. More buildings burn, fire licking up to the sky. A plane is seen flying overhead. So much smoke emanates from the city, it fills the entire horizon.
