Description
Field Day and rodeo at Camp Pendleton on July 7-8, 1949. Major General Graves B. Erskine and Brigadier General Harry B. Liversedge ride on horseback, followed by the Fallbrook Riders of San Diego County, a horse drawn wagon with a Marine band on board, and a horse drawn carriage. Marines and civilians spectate bull riding and horseback riding rodeo events, eat food, and lift coal from chutes. A Marine reads a program for the rodeo; the title page reads, "--Program-- Second Annual Camp Pendleton Rodeo July 8, 1949. Staged For Your Entertainment by the Camp Pendleton Marines Camp Joseph H. Pendleton Oceanside, Calif." On the parade field, Marines and the Montford Point Marines drill. Content related to USMC 103372.
