Description
LANTPHIBEX at Camp Lejeune in November 1955. Aerial footage of terrain and landing craft offshore. F9Fs of VMF-114 fly overhead. Marines disembark LCMs and LCVPs on the shore, establish a beachhead, operate LVT-3s, shell sand dunes, and operate M46 tanks. A HUP-1 of HU-2 flies overhead. Marines unload M-46 tanks from LCU-1474. LCU-852 comes ashore. A P5M of VP-44 lands in the water. Marines depart the P5M in a rubber assault boat. R4Qs of VMR-252 and VMR-153 land. A R4Q of VMR-252 takes off. Marines known to be in the film: R4Q Crew Chief T/SGT C. V. Watts. Ships featured in the film: USS Latimer (APA-152), USS Cambria (APA-36), USS Muliphen (AKA-61), LCU-852, LCU-1474, LCU-1470, and USS Capricornus (AKA-57). Content related to USMC 103924.
