Home movie footage associated with General Thomas Holcomb who commanded the Marine detachment in Beijing (Peking, China from August 1927 to February 1930) from 1929. Scenes of camels, chrysanthemums, officers of the legation guard, the Temple of Heaven, social life, a small boy in the sunshine, Holcomb's racehorse "Delaware", the Forbidden City, the winners of the Lady Aglen Cup, polo, unidentified officers assembling in the grounds of the British Legation for a group photograph, the Royal Scots, horseback riding, a traditional Chinese funeral procession, the Interport paper chase, the Tsin-Pu railroad, Hong Kong and the South China Sea, the grounds of a famous hotel in Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon).
