Description
A number of sequences not in chronological order showing the 23rd Marines leaving Hawaii for California. Troops load onto the escort carrier USS Shamrock Bay (CVE-84). They are greeted stateside by a large sign saying, ""Welcome Home, Well Done."" Another sequence showing members of the 23rd Marines loading onto an escort carrier; one Marine has packed his pet dog in his satchel. A Marine band performs while the regiment finishes loading.
