She walks with a group of men and waves to the crowd. # 4996 Miracle of Stones LS of huge mass of people carrying stones atop their heads. MS statue of Virgin Mary. MS of women praying with stones on their heads. The crowd ends up at a pit where all the stones are thrown into. LS of building and a priest who walks with little boys. The crowd of boys surrounds him. # 4993 Korea -- Chaplain on POWs MS of two men answering questions for the press. Major Penny is in charge of feeding the POWs and he explains what he and the others ate for breakfast. The POWs were eager to be home and eating some good American food. #4989 Korea -- POS exchange Panmunjom LS of military jeeps filled with soldiers driving down the road. Men are taken from the jeeps in stretchers and put onto helicopters. Other men are led into a tent and questioned. (no audio) Line of jeeps drives away. #4988 Paris -- LS of plane. MS of man walking down plane’s steps and greeted by group of men. #4986 -- POW exchange Military jeeps unload Korean POWs. MS of sign that says “Welcome Gate to Freedom” Helicopters land and soldiers are taken out on stretchers. Men hug each other and are happy. People shake hands. #4982 -- Akhito sails MS of young Japanese man waves at the crowd. He sailed from SF to Canada and then to NY? He is happy about being in New York and thinks it is beautiful. #4981 -- German Ex-pilots Lots of men exit airplane. They surround some military contraptions and fighter planes and talk. An air show takes place overhead and the men watch. #4979 -- Los Angeles - Lawson MS of man talking (no audio). EXT MS of US Post Office and Court House. Three men exit building and walk into alley. #4972 -- POW Picerno Family MS of family sitting on couch. Everyone is happy and they address the cameras. They just heard that their son/brother is coming home and they are ecstatic. His brother talks for the family. #4970 -- NY -- Gregg on traffic MS of man talking into microphone. He says there should be a reduction in tariffs by 20%. #4964 -- New Jersey - Trick Casting Man is a whiz with a fly fishing pole. Older woman holds a balloon in her mouth and he pops it by casting his line at her. Then he knocks a cigarette out of her mouth by casting. The man then gets in the river and catches a hat that is floating down. We can see fish in the water and he casts out and catches one. #4963 -- Korea - Red POWs on Pusan POWs are led off a boat put on busses. Lines of soldiers stand around with guns raised. The camera shoots through the barbed wire fence and catches a glimpse of POWs milling about together and talking. #4959 -- Queen and Grenadiere Queen Elizabeth is marched into courtyard with guards. She stands at podium and talks to the crowd. #4958 -- Southern Rhodesia Federation Poll EXT LS of street and CU of signs that say “Contemplate don’t Federate” and “Federate and Flourish” and a picture of a little baby saying “Please let me stay a Rhodesian. Vote No” etc. MS of people casting their ballots. The results are shown (25560 YES and 14729 NO) #4955 -- New Jersey - Viho the Great Man kisses his wife before climbing up pole. Once up top he rides a bike on the wire and then walks blindfolded across it. The camera cuts to his wife and children watching him and holding their breath. #4952 -- Germany - Cohn & Schine LS of room filled with people. Two men sit at table and talk into microphone. They are there to see who can contribute more facts and information to help win the Cold War and preserve American ideals. Therefore no communist books or materials should be included in America House. He dictates more anti-Communist banter. Other countries should be allowed to see a broad and reflective view of America. #4946 -- Washington DC - Reclaiming Shells Huge shipping yard filled with old shell casings. Giant crane picks them up and dumps them in piles. Men pick them up one by one and stack them. Then they are melted down in big tanks and made into something else. #4944 -- Leeming Honored LS of men standing at table. They are honoring a man who saved some people in a flood situation. EXT LS of flood damage. The water level is at the houses’ roof. MS of honored man who says how happy he is to receive this medal. #4943 -- London - British Budget EXT LS in London. Police try and keep crowd back from house. The camera wanders down streets and catches a little bit of the daily life for Britons. They are being unloaded onto trucks. #4940 -- London - Under Synposing MS of British man addressing audience. He gets off a plane. Weird other footage.
