Unheard 1950s CHICANO GARAGE ROCK & ROLL / R&B Home-Made Records

This is a set of home-made records from the 1957-58 time frame, recorded by a bunch of Chicano buddies while getting drunk and hanging out on Saturday nights in the San Diego area (likely Barrio Logan or South Bay). I acquired these from a garage sale many years ago, and recently unearthed them while sorting through a box of other similar home-made records that I've accumulated over the years. The identity of the people and their exact location is unknown. The sound quality is extremely rough, to say the least, as is the humor. BUT... these guys played guitar, sax, drums, etc and they really got some raw garage grooves happening! It's an especially fascinating and rare look into an aspect of Chicano youth culture of the time, completely unvarnished. It's doubtful that very many Hispanic families had disc recording equipment at home at that time, let alone young punks who just wanted to party. The records themselves are in rough shape, having been played one too many times. Some parts of the records are literally completely worn off, as these are aluminum discs with lacquer coating that gets brittle and flakes away over time. I didn't try to digitally clean the recordings up too much, because honestly the raw distorted sound is a big part of the character, but I did remove alot pop/clicks and also EQ'd everything as best I could. I did have to repair many skips, though I left a few in as well.
