Understanding Our Earth: Soil (revised)

Combines animation and regular photography to explain the soil profile (topsoil, subsoil, loose rock, bedrock) and the process of soil formation by such factors as rock erosion and decay. Different kinds of soil are identified and judged for their plant-maintaining potential. Human damage to the soil is illustrated and ways of counteracting this destruction are suggested.
