Description: Presents a brief history of the spread of brucellosis, the development of a vaccine, and several different situations in which the disease is contracted by cattle, goats, and boars. Shows how a purebred Hereford is infected by a heifer bought at auction, how a neighbor's cow infects a dairy herd, how a blue ribbon boar is infected at an agricultural fair, and how the disease is contracted by a goatherd. Pictures, with drawing and animation, the first discovery of the disease, the germs that cause it, the way in which the germs attack the animals, and the development of an effective vaccine in 1940. Concludes by explaining the precautionary measures that should be taken to prevent the disease.
