Three Horsemen

Duration: 2000

Year Published: 1980

Complete Record: Ethnographic documentary about three generations of Aboriginal stockmen, one 75, one 46, and the other 13, who are trying to establish an all-Aboriginal cattle station on Cape York Peninsula in Australia's northern Queensland. Earlier in this century Aboriginal stockmen were the backbone of Australia's cattle industry: this film is about the persistence of ideals from that period of Aboriginal history, and the formidable difficulties the three men face in fulfilling them.
