Restricted: For PFA exhibition only.; Introductory title on print gives historical background of the three films to follow: In 1957 Edward Silverstone Taylor developed the "LUCITRON." It was a specialized optical projector which could be played by a performer to create an endless variety of colors and patterns, variable according to the taste and skill of the operator. The LUCITRON attracted little attention in 1957. It was shown only to a few close friends of the inventor. Nevertheless a new visual-temporal art form had come into being. The compositions which were photographed to produce this trilogy were originally performed by Edward Silverstone Taylor on the LUCITRON. Appropriately, the first film is named after the instrument that produced it. In Lucitron (107 ft., color), multi-colored circular lights swivel, refract, bleed. Cosmosis (150 ft., b&w) is a light play. Sol (175 ft., color) is similar to Lucitron but more advanced and seems to be working around the sun as a theme.; PFA 1604-01-15351. D0193; PFA 1604-01-15351.
