Jonas halt works on the principle that inactive poliovirus tend to build up resistance to the disease without doing any harm the nationwide test may provide the means of fighting this dreadful scourge of childhood but for the moment it's just operation ouch [Music] look like a woman member of the US Senate took her seat this week mrs e boring a Republican of Nebraska that question has been asked me before as a matter of fact it was called into the ranks several different times people wanted to know how I stood the question was asked me was I liberal and I answer that I wasn't trying to what the word man but it had been used it's been misused no I don't want you to call me a liberal at the County Courthouse in White Plains New York Rita Hayworth this week regained the custody of her two children Yasmin and Rebecca a neglect complaint had been filed against the actress while she and her husband dick haymes were in Florida on vacation and the girls were placed under the protection of the court without a preliminary hearing attended by all parties involved in the case the judge decided that Rita's should have her children although he ruled that there was evidence of neglect while they were left for the governance next battle for Rita a settlement from Ali Khan covering the future of his daughter jasmine this toy ferris wheel is getting its power from a new battery developed by the Bell Telephone laboratories a battery which translates life into practical energy a beam of light focused on the exposed slate that the battery provides the power the battery is powerful enough to operate a small radio transmitter manufacturing 50 watts of electricity from each square yard of sunlight the plates are made of silicon one of the chief ingredients of common fans no moving parts in the battery and it can't wear out something new Under the Sun a bee [Music]
