Things afoot

Description: Envisages a world without shoes to prove how footwear is indispensable in modern everyday life. A visit to a shoe factory illustrates the many complicated machines used in the manufacture of footwear. Scenes at a technical school show how the young apprentice receives theoretical and practical training in the manufacture of shoes. The concluding section of the film lists the advantages of employment in the shoe trade; stability of employment, welfare schemes, recreational facilities, wages etc.
