Description: Explains and demonstrates four properties of light (intensity, distribution, angle, and color) and their functions in stage lighting: to reinforce the dramatic atmosphere, to create selective visibility, to accent forms and characters, to promote effective motivation, and to enhance composition on stage. Observes a lighting director, working with the dramatic director and other members of the production staff, preparing a detailed lighting plan designed for a particular facility. Shows implementation of the plan including hanging, testing, and adjusting the lights; and programming the control panel.
