Complete Record: reel one; Our country’s main sports center ‘Luzhniki is located on the banks on Moscow river. The Torch for the Opening of the 26th Olympic Games will be lighted here. Kinder Garden named ‘Solnishko’, which means Sun, children are getting ready with their teacher’s assistance for a class dance on skates from one of Tchaikovsky’s ballets called ‘ Muha Tsekatuha’, we see the kids in the ice rings performing the dance along with their teacher, all the girls are dressed up as little butterflies. Lipetsk- young boys are learning how to play hockey, we see the boys training in all other areas which is a must for a Soviet Sportsman. We get an interview with a coach who tells us how important hockey is for young boys and why. For example hockey teaches us social skills and teaches us value of friendship and how to develop reliable friendships. The winners of this hockey tournament will travel to Chelyabinsk, such tournaments are covered by the press and are seen over the television just like the grown-ups. We see kids competing in such a tournament and practicing for it. Interior shot of a big ice-ring stadium where such a tournament is taking place. A shot of storks sitting in a tree and a stork building a nest, this is in reference to ‘the legend’. A National Sports Facility; young sportsmen exercising, running, jumping pole, swimming, ect. Young kids roller blading with the help of their elders. A High school in Kiev, young Comsomol’tsi are seen playing, talking, little pioneers next to them are jumping roap. Shown is a big sports gym where two rows of young pioneers learn the rudiments of fencing. reel two: Chess: Georgian school children playing chess at the Pioneer Palace, these children are also exposed to football and skiing. Tbilisi, the Capital of Soviet Giorgia is a traditional chess city as you will be convinced once you visit it. The Palace of Chess, many chess players started in the Pioneer’s Palace where all necessary conditions exist for encouraging the youngsters. Soccer is next, sunny outside and a big soccer field with kids playing soccer. Coach Aleksandr Leonidov has trained quiet a number of generations of football players who were awarded on football fields in many countries. Everything is the same as with the grown-ups, medical checkup and everything. Cut to rowing. Cut to Modern Gymnastics Class, the teacher is dicecting one young woman’s ballet moves and demonstrates to the whole class. Younger toddlers come to the same class for a more elementary lesson. Young female gymnasts are dancing using props superimposed over Pioneer Palaces from different cities from around the Soviet Union. Overview of all the different sports, and the Soviet Union being represented in the Olympics.
