Description: Middle class Amy Sumida is attracted to wealthy Adam Tarcher, whose sister she tutors in math. Dating Adam, she is torn between her loyalty to her own friends and the desire to be accepted by Adam's. She feels uncomfortable with Adam's friend, Justin, who makes derogatory remarks towards members of minority groups. In school, the teacher introduces the class to the Color Game. In this exercise, students draw tokens and receive colored armbands that assign them to one of three social classes that differ in power, privilege and wealth. Amy is secretly happy to become an upper class blue; Adam is dismayed to find himself a lower class orange. What, wonders Amy, will happen to their relationship, since upper and lower classes are forbidden to associate with each other?
