The Special Universe of Walter Krolik

Dramatizes the emotional situation into which Walter Krolik, a tuberculosis patient, is forced when he enters the hospital for an unexpected, long-term confinement. Reveals his relationship with his formerly dependent family and with members of the hospital staff who misinterpret the patient's behavior. Stresses the psychological barriers to Walter's recovery and shows that every patient needs to be perceived and dealt with as a unique individual--physically and psychologically--by medical workers.
