The Snowy Mountain Scheme: the first achievement

Description: Episode number 17 of Series “Modern social studies”. Reports on the initial preparations and planning in the Snowy Mountains region and the completion of the first project of the scheme - the Guthega project. Construction of the Guthega Dam and Munyang power station was begun and despite the difficulty of a cold climate, the project was completed and the power house officially opened by the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, on 23 April 1955.
