The Snowy Mountain Scheme: the first achievement

Episode number 17 of Series “Modern social studies”. Reports on the initial preparations and planning in the Snowy Mountains region and the completion of the first project of the scheme - the Guthega project. Construction of the Guthega Dam and Munyang power station was begun and despite the difficulty of a cold climate, the project was completed and the power house officially opened by the Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, on 23 April 1955.
